Ikaro’s Spirit was born through visions, dreams and messages sent by our ancestors, the abuelos. The desire to heal and help others flows through our veins, energizing us and giving us a purpose. Plant medicine is intuitive and ancient for us, but not exclusive. We believe that it is our duty to share our knowledge and work to heal all those who feel the call of Mother Ayahuasca.
Onanya Inonbari grew up in the small town of Santa Teresita, on the outskirts of the city of Pucallpa. The town is home to approximately 200 families, most of whom make a living from agriculture. Shipibo traditions are still alive in this small town.Their lifestyle is simple, but full of love and joy. Our mission is simple, to give back to those who have given us so much, to those who have taught us our ways of healing.
After many years working for several agencies in Cusco, Inonbari was determined to treat patients in a more independent way. There are hundreds of people who offer Ayahuasca ceremonies in Peru, in the jungle, in the Valley, and beyond. There are few centers that are fully owned and operated by indigenous peoples. There are even fewer reinvesting; to the places where medicine originated and to the mother earth who blesses us with her bounty.
Ikaro's Spirit is a family run NGO. Our goal is to give back to the earth what we take, to be in balance with its energies. We believe in the sacred energy of Ayni. With the proceeds we earn from offering you ceremonies, we reinvest in the town of Santa Teresita. We replant the Ayahuasca that we harvested from our farm in Pucallpa. We help with environmental initiatives and educational opportunities for the community.
By choosing Ikaro's Spirit, you are supporting our Shipibo community and future generations of healers. You are supporting Mother Earth. You are participating in Ayni, which in Quecha means "Today for you, tomorrow for me." We believe that giving comes before receiving.
Our immediate goal is to raise funds to buy land in Pucallpa, where we can build our first healing center. We will create a community garden with plant medicine and food for Santa Teresita. We will employ Shipibo and indigenous people. We will reinvest all the profits into our community. We will give with all our heart.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
